Last night was July’s full moon. Oftentimes I don’t sleep well during this phase of the moon. So, it was again last night. I got up and saw a light in the hallway. I walked toward the living room thinking I must have left the lamp on. But no, it was the moon shining brightly, illuminating the front rooms.… Read more

How long is the “Now Moment”?
Sitting on my porch swing I marvel at the beautiful Maui sunset. I know that the turning of daylight to complete darkness is very short in Hawaii’s latitudes. That’s why I left my dinner preparation and hurried outside.
While observing the colors as they change from light blue to yellow into a faint pink, I am so grateful to be aware of this Now Moment witnessing the spectacle of this perfectly clear nightfall.… Read more
Let It Be
“When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, “Let it be”, and in my hour of darkness, she is standing right in front of me, speaking words of wisdom, “Let it be.”
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be whisper words of wisdom, let it be.”… Read more
My Son’s Teachings
My eldest son Oliver has always had a very happy disposition. However, as a child, he was rather hard-headed. Always having his own ideas about almost everything, it wasn’t easy and sometimes impossible to convince him of something contrary to what he had in mind. He just knew what he wanted and followed through.

Precious Moment
I moved back to my hometown after having been gone for almost half a century. A lot has changed, but many things are still the same. Happily, a few old school friends also moved back. Most important, however, is that my family lives close by: my two younger sons, their wives, and my five grandchildren.
The second night after arriving in my new home my two sons, Philip and Stefan, both came by to help me set up a bookshelf and organize the many boxes, which were still scattered all over the place.… Read more
I Choose To See The Good In All
I live close to a large river. In the summertime people love to swim in it, or more accurately, to float in it since it takes you effortlessly downstream. The current is strong making it impossible to swim upstream. The same happens when we try to fight life. If life wants us to take a certain path, in time it will direct us there no matter what we want.… Read more
It’s War – But Who and What is the Real Enemy?
It’s wartime. It all started in China. Of course, again, they blame the “bad boy.” It spread fast. It went from a local conflict to a world war, quickly. But that shouldn’t be a total surprise. Predictions of a third world war have been in the forecast for a long time.
Countries all over the planet have prepared themselves for it.… Read more
Coronavirus Times
“I hope you remember my hug while you sit in Quarantine,” said a friend from Maui.
“Of course I will,” I replied almost jokingly, not yet aware of the true meaning behind his words.
Before I left Maui, it seemed like I would be leaving a safe harbor to sail to a dangerous, unknown land, not knowing what would happen on the way, unsure if I would safely arrive at my destination, my Swiss Home.… Read more
